What the client needed

The site of Honoured Artist of Ukraine Viktor Muzychko: a velvet-curtain WebGL stage, online lessons, reviews with moderation and a pitch test that finds your voice type.

Viktor Muzychko is an opera tenor and a teacher of academic vocal. He needed a site that feels like the stage he works on, turns visitors into lesson requests and lets him run everything himself - in Ukrainian and Russian.

User stories

What people do with it

• As a future student, I want to test my voice in the browser, so that I know my voice type before the first lesson.
• As a visitor, I want to read what other students say, so that I trust the teacher before I ask for a lesson.
• As the teacher, I want to edit every text in both languages myself, so that the site keeps up with my classes.

Key challenges

What made it hard

• 01
  Clipped letters on gold text. Five geometry fixes failed; the sixth found the cause - a compositor layer sized from the untransformed box. The fix went into the text utility itself.
• 02
  Seamless living portraits. The server ignored Range requests, so videos could not loop cleanly; a media view with 206 responses and posters cut from the video itself removed the jolt.
• 03
  Security from hour one. A bot tried the admin 102 times a minute, an hour after the certificate was issued - it found the domain in public certificate logs. The admin moved to a secret path.
