What the client needed

A calm, expressive site for a somatic practitioner in Miami with its own booking engine: live availability, Stripe prepayment and Google Calendar sync.

Julia Chukh runs private somatic sessions in Miami and programs for leadership teams. She needed a site that feels like her practice - warm and unhurried - with a clear path from the first screen to a paid session, a strong phone version, landing pages for Instagram campaigns and full control over every word without a developer.

• As a new client, I want to see the open times and book a session in one go, so that I do not wait for a reply to a message.
• As the practitioner, I want the payment taken before a slot is held, so that an empty hour never costs me a session.
• As the practitioner, I want to change every word, price and campaign page myself, so that a new offer goes out without a developer.

Key challenges

What made it hard

  Real money on the line. Stripe Checkout holds a session for at least 30 minutes, the product needed a 10-minute hold. A background worker closes the session through the API and frees the slot only after Stripe confirms it.

  No double bookings. Slots are reserved under a transactional lock, and a payment is trusted only after a signed webhook and a fresh read from Stripe.

  Motion without jank. Custom section paging froze on trackpad inertia, so it was replaced with native scroll and CSS view timelines, with eight regression checks.
